Teacher & Family Educator, Coach, Tutor & Author
To thrive and grow as professionals and to be the best teachers possible for all children, teachers need individualized support and compassionate coaching, the same way children benefit from sensitive, caring teachers.
Educators benefit from hands-on, engaging mentoring, not lectures where they are talked at by "experts."
I provide effective professional development training and coaching based on constructivist theories of learning that engage the adult learner in meaningful, authentic experiences that help teachers translate new knowledge into actual changes in classroom practice.
Teachers/Administrators and Families also need community to support them on this journey...please join us at either or both groups that I founded and co-lead:
Families for Racial Justice Chicago, and
NAME Illinois (the state chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education: Advancing and Advocating for Social Justice and Equity)
I also assess and tutor children (Kindergarten-High School) in person and virtually online, and am also available to provide workshops for families.
NOTES:
A colleague and I are featured on this webinar: Anti-Racism in the Workplace: Tools, Processes, and Questions to Ask.
